Why Special Needs Moms Make Amazing Beachbody Coaches

As a Mom, I love that I'm able to be here for my kids and not miss a moment. I spend many days just enjoying the time with them - though some days consist of me trying to convince my oldest not to sit on his sister. ;)

However, as a Special Needs Mom, I've learned the real meaning of never giving up. I've spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours online, learning about the proteins in different foods, how the body can react to foods, what foods contain lots of histamines and much more. See, my son has a condition known as Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES). This basically means that his little body rejects the proteins that are in most foods. He also has sensory issues, and we also believe something called Mast Cell Disorder. I work closely with his Doctors and medical staff, and like every special needs Mom out there, I experience a roller coaster of emotions every single day.

I communicate daily with my kids, and encourage my little boy to get through the hard days and good days alike. Like any Mom, I teach them everything - from working through sensory issues, to trying new foods, to learning the alphabet and counting. I manage our weekly specialist appointments, visits with family, special outings with other special needs families, events, and more. I empathize with my child and other special needs children, and set goals with my husband about what new foods to trial with my son, finding new specialists who may help, and new places to try to visit. I document my story in the hopes of helping other families with special needs kids, and strive to use the gifts of mercy and leadership that God has given me and life experience to help my son grow as a person, and also to reach out to other special needs families.

I will say that being a Special Needs Mom is very challenging, but also very REWARDING. Some moms may not appreciate seeing the scale go UP when their little ones have check-ups, but I sure do! I also learned all about processed foods, and what is in them, why we should eat whole foods, and how important it is to pay attention to every little ingredient in a package. I have his Gastroenterologist Doctor on speed dial and his ER Emergency Packet by the front door at all times. But when my little guy hugs me and says "thank you for making me feel better, Mommy", my heart melts and it is all worth it. You know?

On the other side of this, I can say with confidence that the absolute worst feeling you can experience as a Special Needs Mom is helplessness. That feeling that there is absolutely nothing you can do to help your child is like a knife in your gut. And when you feel helpless, depression often isn't far away.

Before I had my little guy, I worked full-time outside the home - throughout high school and all the way up until he was born. So for me, I experienced a huge amount of (self-induced) guilt just by staying home with him. I shouldn't have, of course, but I did! My husband and I were broke (and I mean BROKE), barely making it paycheck to paycheck. Our marriage was incredibly strained as we learned about living with a child who screamed in pain for 8+ hours a day, and had this new disorder we had never even heard of before. I began to feel desperate and turned to food for comfort, going on crazy binge episodes and packing on the pounds as he neared his first birthday.

As I have grown older, I have realized with life experience that I need to have more control over the most basic aspects of my life: work, health, happiness, income and time, really. When I realized I was out of control with my weight and my mental health (post-partum depression and PTSD from having a child with special needs, look it up, it's more normal than you think!), I realized it was time to take control of my health again. I used TurboFire to lose the weight, and God has used Beachbody to help with the rest.

I became a Coach in March of 2013 and I can now pay for our mortgage, and my son's very expensive specialty groceries. I earned a free trip to Cancun for my sister and I with every expense paid this year (although I will say I was 37 weeks pregnant and unable to attend, but hey, I earned it!), and a cruise next year. We have a steady stream of income coming in every month that grows every time I put more effort into it.

Most importantly, I am at a place in my life where I can say I am proud of myself for being able to work from home, and work towards financial freedom and provide for my little family- all while being present in their lives. I got here in two years, while battling emotional eating, fighting candida, navigating my way through pregnancy, nursing an infant, and other unexpected curve balls. ;) I want you to imagine what the extra income and that freedom could do for you!

All the skills and talents I have developed throughout the years as a special needs Mom have been INVALUABLE in helping me with this business:

1. I communicate how to use Beachbody fitness programs and Shakeology to lose weight and get fit at home.

2. I encourage women on their weight loss journey and help them through easy and hard days.

3.  I teach my Coaches how to use duplication to achieve the same business success as me.

4. I manage my own time around my family's needs, and get my daily tasks completed in that allotted time.

5. I am empathetic towards helping people who need tough love, encouragement, and mentorship.

6. I use and teach goal setting to my customers and Coaches so they get the results they are working for.

7. I share my own story so I can reach others like me who need my help.

8. I use the God-given gifts and life experience as a Special Needs Mom to help others who need to be helped in a new way every day.

9. I genuinely care about how I can improve the lives of people who entrust me with them.

Doing three simple things every day since I started this business is ultimately what helped me be successful. I also control how fast or slow I want to grow my business by setting the goals I want to reach. I set my hours and choose who I want to work with. I do this in about 4 hours a day and for about $16 every month. That's it!

I'm looking to personally mentor 10 women like me. If you are a Special Needs Mom who wants to create some freedom and income while getting healthier and happier for your families, helping others do the same, using the best fitness programs at home on your own time around the kids' schedules, please reach out to me. I want to hear from you. I can help you do just that and more with the time and skills you have right now. Sound interesting?

Apply to join my team and I will personally contact you in the next few days to talk about your goals and to get you started as a Coach. I will mentor you one on one and help you learn the exact steps I took to achieve success with this business. Let's do this together, Mama!
